You would be surprised at what a fresh coat of paint can do to completely transform your space. You may feel like your washroom is doomed to be dark and gloomy forever, but a brighter paint colour can change all of that completely. If you're looking for something more trendy you can even use a patterned wallpaper to really accent your bathroom. Make sure you choose a paint or wallpaper that is formulated to protect against mold and moisture.
Thoreaux is a new Canadian wallpaper company that features creative reinterpretations of historic images from across the globe. Their patterns are contemporary but timeless and reasonably priced, perfect for a quick design fix.

Rather than replacing your entire vanity or cabinetry, it is much more affordable to make changes to your existing piece. Swapping out knobs and painting a cabinet is an easy way to make a drastic change. You may think that your vintage cabinetry is past the point of revival but you would be surprised at what paint and touch ups can do to it. It's a great way to revamp a more traditional washroom.
Richelieu Hardware offers a variety of knobs and bathroom accessories ranging in price. You can order right off their website or head to your local hardware store.

Replacing a dated or basic mirror with something fresh can make a big difference in your washroom. Thrift stores are usual a great find for affordable and stylish mirrors. Circular mirrors are a huge hit this year when it comes to your vanity, so keep your eye out for these. You can even get creative and restyle an old mirror as a DIY project by painting the frame or creating your own frame.

A change in flooring may sound like a scary and expensive way to update an area but it doesn't have to be. Laminate can most of the time be placed over existing floors for an easy and inexpensive application that you can do yourself. Laminate flooring is available in many styles but the faux wood is a way to bring elegance into your bathroom.
Kraus flooring provides you with an array of laminate floors in all different styles and colours. They are known for their outstanding customer service and quality of product.

While it's easy to leave your toiletries scattered across your counter, it isn't the most attractive way to stay organized. Floating shelves are an easy form of storage that can be added to any room. Buy pre-made floating shelves or get some rough hewn lumber cut at your local hardware store, and fix them to your wall with brackets (make sure you attach them to the studs within the walls). With the addition of small baskets that you can pick up at a dollar store, organizing has never been easier. The best part is that floating shelves can work with both a vintage and modern style bathroom.

Changing your light fixture can cost as little as CDN$20 and can transform a bathroom in astonishing ways. However, keep in mind that lighting is not only about aesthetics, but functionality as well. It's important to consider how much light you need in certain areas before making an impulsive decision. It is recommended to use a fixture with more than one light bulb mounted above the vanity or single-light sconces used in pairs. An accent light is a really great and affordable way to update your washroom and create a focal point.
Globe Electric is a great place to look when it comes to lighting. Their products can be conveniently found at most hardware stores and the majority of items guarantee longevity. They even offer five piece sets that come packed with a 3-light vanity fixture, towel bar, toilet paper holder, towel ring and robe hook at the low price of CDN$75!

The simplest fix is replacing the accessories in your space! Replacing the shower curtain, and adding plants, art and new towels are great ways to refresh your washroom. A new shower curtain can add texture, colour, and pattern, while new towels can infuse a new pop of colour. This is an easy way to elevate your washroom, by introducing new patterns and colours that didn't exist before. Plus, who doesn't love a new fluffy towel now and then?
Umbra is a great source when it comes to modern home decor items at reasonable prices. They have everything from furniture to accessories to elevate your home. They even have a range of washroom hardware that starts from CDN$15. What better way to finish a space by giving it your own personal touch? If your washroom is in need of some TLC but you're on a budget, get creative. There are endless simple tricks to revamp a space.
