Qanuk Interiors Designs A Modern Toronto Townhouse

Qanuk Interiors Inc is founded by two OCAD University in Toronto, alumnae students, Sarah Keenleyside and Lindsay Konior. Their schooling and extensive experience have flavoured their work with a distinctly Canadian style!

One particular project, located on Wellington Street, in Toronto, is an excellent project in their design repertoire. Exemplifying elegance in materials, details, and millwork. Together, all these elements create magic!

Starting in the kitchen, clearly, it is equipped with the most contemporary equipment to suit a budding or experienced chef. The signature red knobs of the famous Wolf stove surprisingly blends into the homogenous laminates of the drawers and cabinets. The clean walls are uncluttered and simply decorate with sleek white open shelves. The fridge is perfectly camouflaged- truly creating the most uniform and undisturbed aesthetic there is for a serene open kitchen!

Moving farther into the home, an open riser stairway lines along an irregular geometric stone wall. The combination of the Ash engineered flooring and the dark stone exudes a high-end residential look, especially with the miniature green garden underneath. It is an excellent use of often underused and ignored space!

Another often overlooked and underused space is the area beneath a sloping roof. Again, Qanuk Interiors successfully brings function in the form of a beautiful stepped millwork detail. The richness of the dark wood of the millwork is amplified by the white ceiling.

Logically alongside the closet and storage space is a large bed that demands attention with its black tufted headboard. This striking element really creates the focal point of the space- the bedroom becomes hotel luxurious!

A home is not complete without your own spa! Conveniently located and open below from the bedroom, is a spa-worthy ensuite. The dark motif with natural wood is accentuated again on the flooring with light blue tiles lining along the fixtures. Generous counter space, a steam shower, and a large tub makes this ensuite the most exuberant!

After seeing snapshots of this modern home, it is evident that Qanuk Interiors Inc can definitely bring contemporary to a new level! With reoccurring material motifs throughout the spaces, the home is beautifully designed as a cohesive modern unity!
