Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, the 9th annual Interior Design Show West is back this month and bigger than ever.

Continuing the west coast’s current trend toward laneway homes, IDS West will be holding a Live Laneway Home Auction on Saturday, September 21 at 5:15pm.

The contemporary home up for auction, designed by Alair Homes, measures at 516 square feet and is valued at over $500,000.

Can we say "Gorgeous"?

Better still, all net proceeds of the sale of the laneway home will go to the Alzheimer Society of B.C.

Recognizing young talent, the Structure event this year has challenged six designers to create a piece out of Brisco’s sustainable LVL material. Sponsored by BC Wood, the pieces will be premiered at the event. The designers have pushed the boundaries and capabilities of the wood, and the pieces are sure to draw a crowd.

With speakers scheduled from across the country, the stages are sure to be packed all weekend.

Toronto based The Design Agency, comprised of Anwar Mekhayech, Allen Chan and Matt Davis, have multiple talks scheduled including The Evolution of Design and Redefining Design.

Montreal based Igloodgn are scheduled for a presentation titled Maximal Minimalism – The New Canadian Aesthetic at 3pm on Sunday, discussing what they refer to as the “new” Canadian style.
