The Priciest PEI Properties For Sale

Thanks to data compiled by Point2 Homes, here's the most expensive properties currently offered for sale on Prince Edward Island!

The property that holds the top spot? 576 Route 336, Cable Head East, Prince Edward Island! Called an "architectural gem, this 13,360 square-foot Kings County oceanfront property made headlines in 2016 for garnering what was believed to be a record selling price for the province (around $4.75M). Now, it's back up for sale 2 years later, and once again getting significant buzz! It's even more expensive this time around - almost $5.9M!

According to the real estate agent, Michael Poczynek, this price tag takes into account the amount of money the current owner invested to transform the property into a high-end rental accommodation, as well as the healthier state of the island's real estate market. Poczynek also mentions  - likely in an effort to placate worrisome buyers - that the only reason for the new sale is that the current owner (who lives in the U.S.) is moving farther away to a new location, which will make accessibility to the P.E.I. mansion more difficult.

The mansion designed and built in 2006 by Philadelphia architect and businessman James Carr, and boasts six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and - get this - a whale-watching tower! It faces an awesome expanse of the Atlantic - can you imagine waking up to that kind of view every day?! Heaven!

At the end of a long gated drive, the mansion sits on 11-acres of land along the beach near P.E.I. National Park in Greenwich. Built very much in the Maritime architectural tradition, the exterior features Cape Cod siding, Pennsylvania field stone, and red cedar shingles. Inside, the finishes are very much classic contemporary, with nautical accents and a pastel colour pallette.

Here ar e a few snaps of the bedrooms. I'd love to curl up in front of one of those private fireplaces!

Some of the standout rooms include the whale watching tower and the great room, as well as bonuses like the library and the games room!

Look at that picturesque vista!
