Toronto’s Modern Home Tour Features A Stunning Toronto Oasis

This spectacular Toronto, Ontario residence truly gains its glory from its garden view.

Resident Marjorie Harris, one of Canada’s premier garden gurus, capitalized on her home’s outdoor beauty by commissioning a house extension that replaces the former deck with a year round dining space.

The challenge, taken up by PLANT Architect Inc, was to make a space that intimately emulated the airy, outdoor quality of a deck indoors, while simultaneously capturing all of the beauty of the garden oasis outdoors.

The answer was a stunning 14’-wide, 12’-deep, 12’-foot high room, with folding glass walls, that takes in the whole garden. This unique space is integrated with the rest of the house through a sloped, floating ceiling, facilitating a subtle transition.
