If there's anything Torontonians obsess over as much as the Jays, the Leafs, and Drake, it's real estate.
All over the city - and country - people love to talk about how much their homes, and those of their neighbors, might be worth if sold today and what it would take to snag a new house. Well, we have some gossip for you: a certain property has just come to market in Toronto's extravagant Bridle Path neighbourhood, home to tremendous mansions sprawled on multi-acre lots!
Are you curious to see what the ultimate Toronto luxury property looks like? 85 The Bridle Path is currently the city's second most expensive home for sale!
Here are some snaps of what $23,000,000 can buy you!
I'd say "take a look at the cute, little breakfast nook", but this sun-drenched space can't be described as either!
And no multi-million dollar mansion would be complete without a wood-paneled study, huge wine cellar, and a little medieval European flare!
The only pricier property in the City of Toronto is 469 Spadina Road in Forest Hill, a 5-bed, 8-bath Brownstone estate, tagged at $25M. It's to be built that only renderings are available! It's a reinvention of a pre-existing building into two dwellings which is being created to look like it has always existed on the lot, like the original frame that dates to 1888!
It's fairly brave to list such a substantial property right now, when Toronto's luxury market is experiencing a dry spell. Here's a Huffington Post article: Greater Toronto Luxury Home Sales Drop 60%, Report Shows. It talks about the softening multi-millionaire market; in the past year, luxury real estate in Toronto has seen only 76 sales, compared with 180 in the year previous! Looking at the price tag and the photos, any guesses on how long 85 Bridle Path will remain on the market?
Perhaps when Drake's mansion is completed, it will stir the pot a bit, so to speak!
Here's the property right next door to 85 Bridle Path, which rents for $49,000 per month:
And, outside the city, here's Ontario's most expensive property listed for sale last year: Oakville Ontario’s Chelster Hall.
